Alice Henry was born in Richmond, Melbourne on March 21, 1857 (d. February 14, 1943). She was an Australian suffragist and in 1905 sailed to New York where she became an integral part of the American women’s suffrage movement. She was also prominent in the American trade union movement. She worked for the National Women’s Trade Union League of America. She also wrote books and was a journalist and spent her time updating and writing articles for the league.
